Falling is an upcoming American-British-Canadian drama film written and directed by Viggo Mortensen in his feature directorial debut. It stars Mortensen, Lance Henriksen, Sverrir Gudnason, Laura Linney, Hannah Gross and Terry Chen. It will have its world premiere at the Sundance Film Festival on January 31, 2020.
When 80-year-old independent farmer Willis travels to Los Angeles for an indefinite stay with son John and his family, two very different worlds collide. Mentally declining, Willis’ abrasiveness is both caustic and funny, bringing old wounds from the past and years of mutual mistrust to the surface.
In his directorial debut, Mortensen also wrote, produced and stars in the film.
