SECOND ANNUAL FUNDRAISER DINNER

Founders Ana de la Reguera (Amazon’s “Goliath”), Karla Souza(“How to Get Away with Murder”), and Olga Segura (THE DINNER) along with Esmeralda Pimentel (“The Color of Passion”) gathered to support the 2nd Annual “Los Angeles en Mexico” Fundraising Dinner on September 22nd at Casita Hollywood. The non-profit organization was established in 2017 by the actresses along with Kate del Castillo (THE 33, “Jane the Virgin”), and aims to bring long term assistance to those suffering from the natural disasters. Other notable guests included: Ivana de Maria (“La Bella y Las Bestias”), Arap Bethke (“Eva la Trailera”), Councilman Gil Cedillo, Zelika Garcia, Liz Goldwyn, Yolanda Guillen, Catalina Aguilar Mastretta, Raul Mendez (COCAINE GODMOTHER), and Jeimy Osorio (FAST FIVE).
Guests arrived at Casita Hollywood for cocktails and h’ors d’oeuvures followed by a sit-down dinner and program. The evening’s MC, Fernando Duran gave opening remarks and introduced the founders. Olga, Karla, and Ana spoke about all of the amazing work that has been accomplished in the last year – the purchase of a big plot of land and the construction of 5 homes for families that were left homeless after the 2017 earthquakes in Mexico. The founders shared that the non-profit still has much work to do and are in the process of building 13 houses for 13 additional families. Together the ladies orchestrated a Call-to-Donate, relaying that donations are more important than ever since it is more difficult to get donations now that it has been a year later. A mariachi band performed as LIVE entertainment for guests as they enjoyed the evening. Overall the evening was a huge success with media coverage and the foundation hopes to have more on board in the future as they continue sharing the message and presenting transparency on the collected funds. Event sponsors included Tequila Honor and Aeromexico-Delta. If you would like to donate to the Los Angeles en Mexico foundation, please visit: losangelesenmexico.org
ABOUT LOS ANGELES EN MEXICO:
Los Angeles in Mexico was founded by actresses Ana de la Reguera, Karla Souza, Kate del Castillo, and Olga Segura who saw a need to secure long-term support for rebuilding affected areas left devastated by the 2017 Mexican earthquakes. The 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit central Mexico on September 19th, 2017 killing 337 people. Just 12 days earlier there was an 8.1 magnitude earthquake in southern Mexico that left 90 people dead. The earthquakes left thousands of buildings in complete ruin and rubble. 10 thousand schools were damaged, with 400 needing complete reconstruction. Thousands of people were left homeless. A year later and the founders have accomplished a lot – pulling resources together for the affected families to have shelter, water, electricity and a good quality of life, all of which requires a serious follow-up to which Los Angeles in Mexico supports as its central mission. Immediately after their first fundraiser dinner, they personally traveled to the heavily impacted Tecuanipa, Puebla and actively identified families in need of new homes. They broke ground in January 2018 and to date have built 5 homes, or about 1 every 6 weeks, and they recently purchased a new plot of land with the intention of building 13 more homes. They additionally installed Project Terra solar panels at a local school. For more information about Los Angeles in Mexico, please visit losangelesenmexico.org
