+DOG+
+DOG+ is a noise band based in Santa Susana, California.
Originally formed in Osaka, Japan in 1990 by Steve Davis (a musician who had previously played in the Boston-based band Expando Brain), +DOG+ released two cassettes on the founder’s label BUTT-Tapes, titled DNA=LSD in 1991 and 2PCP-Live the next year. Davis was joined by Jeff Schoenfeld (previously of Creeping Anatomy and Bratface) and Lois Caruso (of Mindgrinder) in 1993 when +DOG+ moved to Boston. In 1994 the band released a 7″ EP named Egg of DOG on Stomach Ache Records and another called Bombed and Dangerous the next year with Detector Records. +DOG+ played many times in the New York and Boston areas, at venues including The Middle East, The Rat, ABC NO RIO (NYC) and Columbia University.
In 1996, +DOG+ released their first CD, 3 Headed Death DOG with Detector, but the band also had a track on a two-disc set entitled Japanese-American Noise Treaty during 1995 with Relapse/Release Records. Then in 1997 the band relocated to Southern California, at which point Bobby Almon began to play alongside Davis. +DOG+ also released a CD called NBIS with the German company Tochnit Aleph in 1998. Davis’s label, Love Earth Music, released several further albums from the band. The second one, Live at the Liquid Den, featured Gitane Demone, previously of Christian Death, as a temporary member. Recently, Love Earth Music has released the following albums in consecutive years starting in 2002: Blood, Space, Plastic Surgery and Industrial Accidents. +DOG+ was joined in 2003 by Emil Beaulieu of RRRecords, Vinnie + the Stardusters (whose drummer was ex-Expando Brain and Kelley Deal 6000 drummer Nick Hook), and several more noise and non-noise bands in a compilation called Best of Various.
+DOG+ has played at the NorCal Noise Fest with acts such as The Haters, Xome and Moe! Staiano several times since 2004, and is scheduled to play in 2006 as well. +DOG+ has played around San Francisco, Sacramento and Los Angeles at the Knitting Factory, AAA Electra ‘99 Gallery, and Il Corral. The 2006 lineup of +DOG+ is a collective of eight artists, including Bobby Almon, Lob of Instagon, Ron Karlin of Eckankore, Sean Maytum (ex-Cement), Ed Nervo (Final Solution and other projects), Jay Downs (Shills/Maimed), Ronnie Bartoli (ex-Zorkhus and Illicit), and Dean.
+DOG+ released two CDs in late 2005 and early 2006: Fantasmus Mirandome on Rape Art Productions from Ecuador, and Human Garbage on Audiobot from Belgium. +DOG+ recently toured Europe, playing in Leeds, Antwerp, and Tienen with Russia’s Monopolka, Norway’s Bjerga/Iversen, and the Netherlands’ Terg. The band is currently recording 2 CDs to be released on the Love Earth Music label in 2006
JESSICA CATRON

ROMAK&THESPACEPIRATES http://www.myspace.com/romakandthespacepirates
After emerging in 2003 as a local curiosity, RoMak & the Space Pirates have continued to expand and appeal to different audiences everywhere with their attention-grabbing music and powerful live show. In many ways, they are a trend blender of pop-culture mashed down, swirled around and pureed into something completely different, yet comfortably familiar. RATSP combines Broadway inspired vocals with tasty synth hooks and hard-hitting beats. Their songs tell stories of ironic forgetfulness in a post-realistic world. Live, they are an unstoppable, unpredictable force of energy and showmanship. The band released the eight song concept-EP, ‘The Long Walk’ in January of 2005, and unleashed/dropped/untied their promo demo ‘The Universe is too SMALL’ February 4th, 2006 CE
BOB BELLERUE/HALFNORMAL
Bob Bellerue / halfnormal is a noise artist, theater designer, audio engineer, performer and writer from Los Angeles of late, and benevolent dictator of the sub-avant performance space the Il Corral. My work utilizes electronics and custom programming for live performance, sound installation, and prepared ambient (public & private) field recordings. With a background in punk / acid rock, Balinese and Javanese gamelan, and Tibetan Buddhism, I’m interested in the various ways that extreme sonic experiences affect awareness and identity, and the supple techniques used to focus and modulate energy. I’ve created original sound scores for dozens of performance art, dance, theater and film pieces, and perform regularly as redglare and as part of Feed the Dragon (w/ Albert Ortega) and Improvisatyrs (w/ David Kendall). My work has been presented in Indonesia, Spain, and across the United States, including the Yogyakarta Gamelan Festival, Centre de Cultura Contempor?nea de Barcelona, Beyond Music Sound Festival, CEAIT Festival, Olympia Experimental Music Festival, PDX Noise Festival, Highways Performance Space, Los Angeles Theater Center, Track16 Gallery, Boulder Museum of Contemporary Art, Living Arts of Tulsa New Genre Festival, Crazyspace, 7Hz, the Smell, KXLU, KFJC, KSPC, KGNU, KDVS, Stanford University, UC San Diego, UC Los Angeles, Naropa University (BA 1995), and the California Institute of the Arts (MFA 2003).
