Polly Parsons, cutting- edge producer of the Return to Sin City: A Tribute to Gram Parsons all-star concert events, has teamed with Amoeba Music and Sin City Marketing to bring the provocative cult theatre smash hit of last year ? Taking the Jesus Pill ? back to Los Angeles for an exclusive 6-week run on Wednesday nights at King King, starting June 21, 2006.

Taking the Jesus Pill took unsuspecting audiences by storm last year, continually extending its limited run for months. Creator Charlie Terrell?s multimedia extravaganza intertwines unforgettable characters, live music, burlesque dancers and surreal film clips splashed across the theatre walls ~ falling somewhere in the realm of The Rocky Horror Show and Hedwig and the Angry Inch Taking the Jesus Pill invites you to immerse yourself in an extraordinary world of Southern Gothic roots, irreverent rock rebellion and unadulterated sexual taboos. ?This is a sexier, amped- up new production. It?s a full-on assault on the senses, with action all around you all of the time,? states Polly Parsons.

The play follows the soul-seeking odyssey of beautifully innocent Tina, daughter of a domineering Southern preacher and his victimized wife who continues to blindly follow her husband through his duplicitous motions. When a charismatic young rebel named ?Johnny 3:16? offers Tina the possibility of a different path, Tina escapes her world of personal and evangelical hell, only to find the road to self- discovery holds many truths we can face and just as many that we can?t.

Immediately following the performance, King King will be transformed into full-blown dance party under the ?Church Without Fear? banner, where audiences can continue to enjoy the TJP experience along with the show?s cast. A host of different DJ?s will keep the party going past the midnight hour each week.
