Ethereal neoclassical/world music/post-punk act Dead Can Dance will be kicking off the North American portion of its 2012-13 world tour at the Orpheum Theatre in Vancouver on August 9.

The Australian band founded by Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry, which will be releasing its first album since 1996′s Spirit chaser at some point this spring.

Dead Can Dance (sometimes referred to as DCD) are an Australian/British ethereal neoclassical duo formed in Melbourne, Australia, in August 1981, by Lisa Gerrard and Brendan Perry. The band relocated to London in May 1982 and disbanded in 1998. Their 1996 album Spiritchaser reached No. 1 on the Billboard Top World Music Albums Chart. Australian music historian Ian McFarlane described Dead Can Dance as having an ambient style of world music that “constructed soundscapes of mesmerising grandeur and solemn beauty…with African poly-rhythms, Gaelic folk, Gregorian chants, Middle Eastern mantras, and art-rock.

Tickets for the concert go on sale Saturday, March 31 at Ticketmaster. Prices range from $35 to $75 plus service charges.

According to Blabbermouth.net, KISS and Mötley Crüe held a press conference on Tuesday, March 20 at the Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood, California to officially announce details of their co-headlining 2012 North American summer tour, simply dubbed “The Tour”. The trek – which will see KISS closing the show each night – will kick off on July 20 in Bristow, Virginia and will run through September 23 in Hartford, Connecticut. The Live Nation-promoted tour will go on sale beginning Friday, March 23 at Ticketmaster.com and LiveNation.com. The KISS Army fan club pre-sales begin Wednesday, March 21 at 10 a.m.

When Ansiedad’s English teacher, Ms. Armstrong (Patricia Arquette), introduces her students to classic coming-of-age stories, Ansiedad decides to jump start her own coming of age and all the pain associated with it, as a shortcut to “adulthood” and more importantly a life without her mom. As her misguided plan unravels, in some comedic yet poignant series of events, both Ansiedad and Grace must learn that sometimes growing-up means acting your own age.

Recently judged “Family-Approved” (ages 12+) by the prestigious International Dove Foundation, the film has already been attracting the attention and support of churches and organizations across the country including Life Teen and the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference (NHCLC).

Demand for Rammstein’s pyrotechnic-laden performances has been so great in Europe, where they regularly play capacity level soccer stadiums, the band spent nearly a full decade without setting foot on North American shores.  In December 2010, the sextet returned to North America for two sold out shows including a performance at Madison Square Garden.  Rammstein followed with a 9-day trek of major North American cities in spring 2011.

The Los Angeles Times described the live experience as “…epic stagecraft on a Wagnerian scale, several notches up from most arena rock.”

The tour announcement comes on the heels of news of the band’s first retrospective release, Made In Germany 1995 – 2011, which will be available in North America (through a distribution deal between Universal Germany and Vagrant Records) on December 13.  Rammstein recently released “Mein Land,” a new four-track digital single that features two new songs: the title track and “Vergiss uns Nicht” as well as remixes from BossHoss and Mogwai.  A video directed by Jonas Akerlund for “Mein Land” is also currently featured Rammstein.com.  Rammstein’s most recent full-length album, Liebe Ist Fur Alle Da, debuted at #13 on the Billboard Top 200 in October 2009.

Rammstein first stormed America in 1998, touring with a set based on their Grammy-nominated breakthrough second release, Sehnsucht, featuring Du hast, the song that brought the world’s attention to the band. During their 1998 Family Values tour, praise was high, as well as indignation: band members were jailed in the US on indecency charges due to the highly provocative live show.
